If you have failed the 1st year exam, you may now keep a pass mark from the Use of English part. Both parts must be taken together in the same initial session before the decision to keep the part 1 result is made.

A pass mark of 12/20 or more for 1st year Use of English/ Grammar can be held over for the two subsequent sessions - you will only be required to sit the 1st Year Dictation in either September 2025 or January 2026.

You must request your mark to be held over by following the link next to your result and completing the form. You must also enrol as normal for the next exam session.

You have until 23 May to communicate your decision via this form - do not email teachers.

Students who wish to "refuse" a final mark can do so in the usual way by emailing Mr Owen by 26 May.
